laugh and laugh it loud

Recently come across few points which made me laugh loud. These are simple one's but very effective and has message in it.

I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out. For Sale : Parachute. Only used once, never opened, small stain. I poured Spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone. Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference. Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film. Think , Its not Illegal Yet . As long as there are tests , there will be prayer in schools . I’m an excellent housekeeper..Every time I get divorced I keep the house . Commonsense is the most evenly distributed quantity in the world; Everyone thinks he has enough . When I die , I want to go like my Grandpa...Peacefully Sleeping ...Not screaming like the passengers in his car .

Solar Plane

First Solar powered airplane took flight on Dec 5, 2009 in Switzerland. Though trip was short one and didn't run at high altitude but definitely big step towards solar power aeroplane
Solar impulse is the company running this project and has long term objective to run for longer duration. The next step of the project is set for Summer 2010 when they will attempt to run 36 hour non stop flight. Later they have plan for round the world flight which would need 25 days.
I personally felt this looks very promising and they may not able to commercial in short span. However such experiment show that solar plane is possible and can be achievable with further research and optimization.

I Will Wait for God

A big flood hit a village. Everyone was evacuated and
fled for safety, except for one man who said, "God will
save me. I have faith." As the water level rose, a jeep
came to rescue him but he refused help and said, "God
will save me. I have faith." As the water level rose
further, he went up to the second story, and a boat
came to help him. Again he refused to go saying, "God
will save me. I have faith." The water kept rising and
finally he climbed to the roof. A helicopter came to
rescue him, but he said, "God will save me. I have
faith." Finally he drowned. When he came face to face
with his Maker he angrily commented, "I have complete
faith in you. Why did you ignore my prayers and let me
drown?" The Lord replied, "Who do you think sent the
jeep, the boat, and the helicopter?"

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES

We must be accountable for what we do and not blame
others for our shortcoming. We have to take the
necessary action to help ourselves, rather than

Pray when it is calm

A Sea Captain in his retirement skippered a boat taking day-trippers to the Shetland Islands. On one trip, the boat was full of young people. They laughed at the old Captain when they saw him say a prayer before sailing out because the day was fine and the sea was calm.

However they were not long at sea when a storm suddenly blew up and the boat began to pitch violently. The terrified passengers came to the Captain and asked him to join them in prayer. But he replied, 'I say my prayers when it's calm. When it's rough I attend to my ship.'

Here is a lesson for us......

If we cannot and will not seek Allah in quiet moments of our lives, we are not likely to find Him when trouble strikes. We are more likely to panic. But if we have learnt to seek Him and trust Him in quiet moments, then most certainly we will find Him when the going gets rough

Excellent thoughts and worth pursuing further.

I believe in Zero

I believe in Zero.

Yes you read it right "I believe in Zero". This is a program initiated by UNICEF to end child death from preventable diseases. Every day 24,000 children die from preventable diseases.

No child should ever die from a preventable cause.
Join us in putting an end to the unnecessary deaths of 24,000 children who die each day of preventable causes. Together, we can achieve zero.

Confidence Trust and Hope

CONFIDENCEOnce, all village people decided to pray for rain.
On the day of prayer all people gathered and only one boy
came with an Umbrella, that's Confidence

TRUST
Trust should be like the feeling of a one year old baby
when you throw him in the air,
he laughs......because he knows you will catch him;
that's Trust

HOPE
Every night we go to bed,
we have no assurance to get up alive in the next morning
but still you have plans for the coming day ;
that's Hope

HAVE CONFIDENCE, TRUST & NEVER LOSE HOPE

9/11 - Reality or conspiracy

May be I'm touching very old conundrum 9/11 - Is it reality or conspiracy

Last 2 days spent time in reading lot of related material and watching conspiracy videos.

I must admit conspiracy facts are mind boggling and if that is true then damn...

We don't know reality but certainly few power and money vested people can turn tables and make it happen.

I watch particularly series "9/11 Conspiracy" on Youtube

No doubt beneficiaries mentioned in the few vidoes have benefited ( though may not be seen as that and will not admit ofcourse)

Posting few of the youtube videos for ready reckonoer.
However I would suggest to go through the series if interested further

How to make Decisions

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, One still in use while the other disused.Only one child played on the disused track, and the rest on the used track.

The train is coming, and you are just beside the track interchange. You can make the train change its course to the disused track and save most of the kids. However, that would also mean the one child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed.

Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make......
Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. I guess. Exactly, I thought the same way initially, because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally & emotionally.

But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place? Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chos…

Acres of Diamonds

There was a farmer in Africa who was happy and content. One day a wise man came to him and told him about the glory of diamonds and the power that goes along with them. The wise man said, "If you had a diamond the size of your thumb, you could have your own city. If you had a diamond the size of your fist, you could probably own your own country." And then he went away.

That night the farmer couldn't sleep. He was unhappy and he was discontent. The next morning he made arrangements to sell off his farm, took care of his family and went in search of diamonds. He looked all over Africa and couldn't find any. He looked all through Europe and couldn't find any. When he got to Spain, he was emotionally, physically and financially broke. He got so disheartened that he threw himself into the River and committed suicide.

Back home, the person who had bought his farm was watering the camels at a stream that ran through the farm. Across the stream, the rays of the morning su…

Go Green : Save the trees

WE, THE inhabitants of earth, have reached that stage where we need to redesign and reconsider our lifestyles for further survival on this planet. If we want the generations to look forward to a healthy and green earth, then we really have to change ourselves at the earliest. No denying the fact that the forest cover of the whole world has drastically depleted over a period of time owing to the human needs and activities. One contributing factor towards this is the paper industry. I'm putting forward some of the facts regarding paper:
Worldwide more than 300 million metric tons of paper and paperboard is produced every year.
Of the total global wood harvest for industrial use. 42 per cent goes into paper making and it is expected to reach 50 per cent in the next fifty years.
In our country we have about 600 paper mills producing different varieties of paper.
On an average each one of us uses 700 pounds of paper products every year. For the production of paper special kind of tree plantat…

Always think positive in Life…….!!!

The secret of life isn't what happens to you,but what you do with what happens to you.
Help other people to cope with their problems & your own problem will be easier to cope with. Never use the word impossible seriously again. Toss it into the verbal waste basket.

Self-trust is the first secret of success. So believe firmly & trust yourself.

Stand up to your obstacles & do something about it. You will find that they haven't half the strength you think they have. Joy increases as you give it, & diminishes as you try to keep it for yourself. In giving it, you will accumulate a deposit of joy greater Than you ever believed possible.

How you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself - so always think positively.

Go at life with abandon; give it all you've got.And life will give all it has to you.Hope is such a marvelous thing....!It bends, it twists,it sometimes hides, but rarely does it break…..!!!Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart …

Going Public Transport : Effective Way

Effective steps are required to improve the system so that people may get attracted to use of public transport rather than their personal vehicles.
Some of the steps that can be followed to make the situation better may be as follows:
1. The number of suburban buses and trains must be increased so that their frequency of running gets increased.

2. Maintenance of buses and trains (hygiene, wear and tear, capacity, etc) must be ensured so that people, especially the white collared workers, who generally avoid the public transport due to the inconvenience being caused by the huge rush and uncivil behaviour of the passengers, etc, may get motivated to use of public transport.

3. Strict law and order must be maintained to avoid anti-social elements and prevent any kind of criminal activities inside buses and trains.

4. Railway stations and bus stands (bus stops) need to be maintained and looked after properly.

5. Schools and colleges must arranged for strong transport so that the use of personal…

The Empty Box

The story goes back some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father next morning & said, "This is for you, Daddy."

The man was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed f…

A Walk in the Mountains

A son and his father were walking in the mountains.Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself & screams:"AAAhhhh!!"To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhh!!!"Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"He receives the answer: "Who are you?"Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"He receives the answer: "Coward!"He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"The voice answers: "I admire you!"Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"The voice answers: "You are a champion!"The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO,but really this is LIFE.It gives you back everything you say or do.Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If U want more love in the world, c…

Tone of Voice

TONE OF VOICE

It's not so much what you say,
as the manner in which you say it;
It's not so much the language you use,
as the tone in which you convey it.

Words may be mild and fair,
But the tone may pierce like a dart;
Words may be soft as the summer air,
But the tone may break my heart;

For words come from the mind
Grow by study and art,
But tone leaps from the inner self,
Revealing the state of heart.

Whether you know it or not,
Whether you're mean or care,
Gentleness, kindness, love and hate,
Envy, anger are there.

Then, would you quarrels
avoid and peace and love rejoice?
Keep anger not only out of your words,
Keep it out of your voice.

Put the Glass Down

A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see; asked the students, 'How much do you think this glass weighs?'

'50gms!' ...'100gms!...'125gms'... The students answered.

'I really don't know unless I weigh it,' said the professor,

but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?
''Nothing' the students said.
Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour? 'the professor asked.
'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the students.
'You're right', now what would happen if I held it for a day?
''Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress; paralysis; Have to go to hospital for sure!'said another student.
'Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change? 'asked The professor.
'No' one of the students replied.

Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stre…

Importance of Silence

There is profound strength in observing silence. Knowing this secret all those People who observe silence have a sparkling & cheerful life.

There was an advertisement in a newspaper regarding vacancy in the company. It was a prestigious post therefore lots of people applied for that post. All the Selected applicants arrived for the interview on the decided date & time.

All of a sudden an announcement was made from one of the staff member of The company: "We would like to appoint a person who has a quiet nature and keen observation. The person who can hear this instruction may come in and Take the appointment letter…

Tap Solar Energy : Its cheap

Solar energy is one of those concepts that seems like a great idea, but can be a tad complicated to undertake. Solar panels can cost a pretty penny, and you have to make sure you install them properly so the energy from the sun will be properly directed. But for all of us who aren't so handy - or don't have a ton of money - a new study published in the journal Science could change the way we look at this alternative energy source.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers developed a process in which, when a specific dye is deposited on a plane of glass, it absorbs "visible spectrum" light and directs it to solar cells, which convert the light into electricity. The rest of the light passes through the glass and is collected in a normal solar panel, where it can be converted into electricity. You might think, great, but why not just use a regular solar panel and forget the dye?

Well, the scientists believe it makes the process 20% more efficient than a typical so…

Mindset : Nice way of relating the challenge

It's called Mindset!! As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

"Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go …

Save Energy At Home

Few Tips to save energy at home:
Turn off lights when not in useClean the dust accumulated on tube lights and bulbs and its fixtures regularly.Use ISI marked electrical appliances and equipmentsPlace your tube lights and bulbs in positions where the light is not obstructed.Use CFLs to save energy
Why CFLsCompact fluorescent bulbs : (CFLs) use about two-thirds less energy than incandescent bulbs with no reduction in quality of light. Compact fluorescent bulbs will give an incandescent bulb's warm, soft light, while using up to 75 percent less electricityCFLs are slightly costlier but are worth investing as they are smaller, cheaper, brighter, and offer improved color quality. Typically, a 23-watt compact fluorescent bulb can replace a 90- or 100-watt incandescent bulb. Use compact fluorescent bulbs in fixtures that are on for more than four hours a day. By replacing only two 75 Watt light bulbs that are on four hours a day by two 15 watt energy-saving lamps, you can save almost 18 K…

EGO Kills You

There was once a scientist. After a lot of practice & efforts, he developed a formula & learned the
art of reproducing himself. He did it so perfectly that it was impossible to tell the reproduction
from the original.

One day while doing his research, he realized that the Angel of Death was searching for him. In order to remain alive he reproduced a dozen copies of himself. The reproduction was so similar that all of them looked exactly like him.

Now when this Angel of Death came down, he was at a loss to know which of the thirteen
before him was the original scientist, & confused, he left them all alone & returned back to heaven.
But, not for long, for being an expert in human nature, the Angel came up with a clever idea.
He said to the scientist addressing all thirteen of them, "Sir, you must be a genius to have
succeeded in making such perfect reproduction formula of yourself. However, I have discovered
a flaw in your work, just one tiny little flaw." The scientist…

Think Differently

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help.." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?" The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'

What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it."

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But th…

Do you know your VALUE

Do you know Your Value?

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a Rupee 500 note. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this Rupee 500 note?" Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this note to one of you, But first let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the note up. He then asked,"Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and Started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth Rupee 500/-. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our wa…

Three Snake Rule

James Barksdale, former CEO of Netscape, was a charismatic manager whose maxims endeared him to his employees. One of his favorites was formulated at a management retreat soon after he took over Netscape. It's known as his three-snake rule:

The first rule: If you see a snake, kill it. Don't set up a snake committee. Don't set up a snake user group. Don't write snake memos. Kill it.

The second rule: Don't play with dead snakes. (Don't revisit decisions.)

The paradoxical third: All opportunities start out looking like snakes.

Get better organise yourself and your desk

What does your desk look like?
* A toxic waste dump?
* A bomb exploded?
* Burglars had ransacked your office?

In corporate world, most business people associate a messy, dis-organized desk/office with being productive, effective and efficient. Are you a member of this club?

Did you know that most people are “wasting” an hour each day looking for “STUFF” that’s lost on their desk? How about you? (Do you wish it was “only” an hour?) And it always happens at the most inopportune time. How many times last week did you call someone up, ask them a question, and they responded, “Hold on a second and let me find the letter/file/proposal. I know it’s here... somewhere.”And five minutes later they come back and sheepishly said: “I can’t find it, let me call you back later.” Thus beginning another round of telephone tag, stretching a quick five-minute conversation into a five-day odyssey.

If you want to get ahead in life, make more money, and even get home for dinner every once in a while, follow thes…

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

There are two days in every week we should not worry about, two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One is yesterday, with its mistakes & cares, its faults & blunders, its aches & pains.
Yesterday has passed, forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. Nor can we erase a single word we've said - yesterday is gone.

The other day we shouldn't worry about is tomorrow, with its impossible.Tomorrow is beyond our control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds but it will rise and until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.

Then leaves only one day - today.
Any person can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something that happened yesterday &…

Reduce Paper Waste

1. Think Before You Ink.
The change has to start here. We all have to change how we look at paper. Before you print out anything, ask yourself if it is absolutely necessary. If you have a digital copy of that e-mail, why do you need a printed version? The green blog TreeHugger.com tried to build an eco-meme by asking people to add this line to their e-mail signatures: “Eco-Tip: Printing e-mails is usually a waste.”

2. Preview Your Documents.
The average employee prints six totally useless pages per day. All you have to do is walk over to the network printer in your office to see examples of them. I did just that and found a tray filled with blank pages, misplaced spreadsheet fields, and random HTML fields from printed Web pages. The average employee prints 1,410 of these wasted pages per year. And this problem is easy to fix: Just preview it first. The easiest way to do this is to use the print preview feature in whatever software you are using to print.

3. Print to PDF.
It took a while, b…

Apply 80/20 Rule

The 80/20 Rule is one of the most helpful of all concepts of time and life management.

It is also called the Pareto Principle after its founder, the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who first wrote about it in 1895.

Pareto noticed that people in his society seemed to divide naturally into what he called the "vital few," the top 20% in terms of money and influence, and the "trivial many," the bottom 80%.

The Great Discovery : He later discovered that virtually all economic activity was subject to this Pareto Principle as well. For example, this rule says that 20% of your activities will account for 80% of your results. 20% of your customers will account for 80% of your sales. 20% of your products or services will account for 80% of your profits. 20% of your tasks will account for 80% of the value of what you do, and so on.This means that if you have a list of ten items to do, two of those items will turn out to be worth as much or more than the other eight items put …

The Dark Candle

A man had a little daughter -- an only & much-beloved child. He lived for her -- she was his life. So when she became ill and her illness resisted the efforts of the best obtainable physicians, he became like a man possessed, moving heaven & earth to bring about her restoration to health.

His best efforts proved unavailing & the child died. The father was totally irreconcilable. He became a bitter recluse, shutting himself away from his many friends & refusing every activity that might restore his poise & bring him back to his normal self. But one night he had a dream.

He was in Heaven, & was witnessing a grand pageant of all the little child angels. They were marching in an apparently endless line past the Great White Throne. Every white-robed angelic child carried a candle. He noticed that one child's candle was not lighted. Then he saw that the child with the dark candle was his own little girl. Rushing to her, while the pageant faltered, he seized her in …

Yesterday's Tomorrow is TODAY

The problem with waiting until tomorrow is that when it finally arrives, it is called today.
Today is yesterday's tomorrow. The question is what did we do with its opportunity?

All too often we will waste tomorrow as we wasted yesterday, and as we are wasting today. All that could have been accomplished can easily elude us, despite our intentions, until we inevitably discover that the things that might have been have slipped from our embrace a single, unused day at a time.

Each of us must pause frequently to remind ourselves that the clock is ticking. The same clock that began to tick from the moment we drew our first breath will also someday cease. Time is the great equalizer of all mankind. It has taken away the best and the worst of us without regard for either. Time offers opportunity but demands a sense of urgency. When the game of life is finally over, there is no second chance to correct our errors. The clock that is ticking away the moments of our lives does not care about wi…
